I LEARNED MY LESSON

I LEARNED MY LESSON

This past weekend, my mom, my sister, and I headed to Lincoln for a Nebraska volleyball game—big fun! But the unexpected highlight? A run-in with Lincoln’s running community that I didn’t see coming (pun totally intended).

While wandering around the Haymarket district, we happened to pass The Lincoln Running Co., so of course, I had to pop in and check it out. I introduced myself to Ann, the owner, who was curious about Wrax and, on the spot, invited me to join their group run the next morning, even asking me to bring Wrax to show anyone interested. I couldn’t say no!

Now, confession: this was my first group run, and I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. But it was awesome! Turns out, running with a group (even while chatting the whole time) makes you faster! Plus, the people I met were so cool, and they made me feel right at home. Afterward, Ann set up a spread of “cromlettes” (yep, that’s a croissant with scrambled eggs stuffed inside, and yes, they were delicious) along with coffee and tea from The Coffee House.

Then came the impromptu Wrax demo moment, and here’s where I learned my lesson. I didn’t bring any samples, cards—just my personal Wrax! Rookie move. So, note to self: from now on, Wrax goes everywhere I do because you never know when the right opportunity will show up.

Big shoutout to Ann for her curiosity and warm welcome. I can’t wait to connect with The Lincoln Running Co. community again, and hopefully next time, I’ll come a little more prepared!

I've also got to add a shoutout to the Nebraska Husker volleyball team for yet another sweep victory! GBR!
